Sandra G. Ramos is a lifelong resident of the Avondale/Logan Square community who studied political science and law at DePaul University.

After being admitted to the Illinois and Federal Bar in May of 1986, Sandra became an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. During her eight years as an Assistant State’s Attorney, Sandra served in the Appellate, Traffic, First Municipal and Felony Trail Divisions.

In 1993 Sandra went into private practice. Sandra established S.G. Ramos Limited where she still practices today.

Sandra is currently the President of the Women’s Criminal Defense Bar Association, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Sandra has received a rating of “Qualified and Recommended” from the Cook County Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the Puerto Rican Bar Association, the Asian American Bar Association, the Black Women’s Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association. She was also recently endorsed by the Cook County Democratic Party.

Sandra is seeking to fill the vacancy of the Honorable Ronald C. Riley in the February 2nd, 2010 election.
